The mission of P.J. Groenke Racing is to become the best Canadian racing team, while satisfying all stakeholders, including sponsors, supporters and fans. The team strives towards technical excellence and continuing improvement.

P.J. entered the Canadian racing scene in 1999. After competing in the Brencole Go Kart Racing series, he moved to the Castrol Solo 1 Championship series in 2000. In 2001, P.J. won his class in the 47th Annual Indian Summer Trophy Races. The following year, he raced in the FV1200 Pro Series.

Between 2003 and 2007, P.J. raced in the Ontario Touring GT Championship. In 2006, he took victory in the 52nd Annual War Bonnet Enduro race. Shortly after his win, he appeared on Star Racer, a reality TV show that aired nation-wide on Discovery Channel Canada, and made it to the semi-final elimination.

In 2008 P.J. Groenke Racing began racing in the Canadian Touring Car Championship and moved up to the Pirelli World Challenge Championships in 2013. Over the last ten years, P.J. raced in six different cars - each year gaining more experience and advancing in the North American racing scene. P.J. Groenke Racing has captured 15 victories, 51 podium finishes, 12 Pole Positions, 23 Fastest Race Laps, 78 top five finishes, 141 top 10 finishes, the 2024 ROWE Pole Position Award, the 2024 Crowdstrike Fast Lap Challenge TCA Champion, 3 Sunoco “Hard Charger” awards, 2 VP Racing Fuels “Hard Charger” Awards, an EBOOST Super Fuel “Hard Charger” Award, an Optima Batteries “Best Standing Start” award, an Invisible Glass “Clean Pass of the Race” award, a “Grassroots to Glory” award, and holds the outright TCB lap record at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the outright TCA lap records at Sonoma Raceway, Road America, and Barber Motorsports Park.

P.J. Groenke Racing achieved the ultimate success winning the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge TCB Driver Championship and the Pirelli World Challenge TCB Team Championship with TechSport Racing in the Verax.ca, Tundra, Prestone, Cabano’s Comfort Food Chevy Sonic. 

2024 marked P.J. Groenke Racing's twelfth season of competition in the Pirelli World Challenge Championships/SRO World Challenge TC America and sixth year competing in the Touring Car A class. P.J. Groenke Racing achieved a life-long goal for a second time winning the 2024 SRO TC America TCA Driver Championship, the 2024 Team Championship with MINI JCW Team/LAP Motorsports, and the 2024 Manufacturer Championship with MINI USA in the #62 Josef Gas, Aletha Corp., Cabano’s Cheeseburgers, Eventscape, TalentNet, Tundra MINI JCW presented by BR-BP!

P.J. returns to the SRO World Challenge TC America Championship in 2025 with Hyundai Motor America & Ricca Autosport.
