The mission of P.J. Groenke Racing is to become the best Canadian racing team, while satisfying all stakeholders, including sponsors, supporters, and fans. The team strives towards technical excellence and continuing improvement.

P.J. entered the Ontario racing scene in 1999. After competing in the Brencole Go Kart Racing series, he moved to the Castrol Solo 1 Championship series in 2000. In 2001, P.J. won his class in the 47th Annual Indian Summer Trophy Races. The following year, he raced in the FV1200 Pro Series.

Between 2003 and 2007, P.J. raced in the Ontario Touring GT Championship. In 2006, he took victory in the 52nd Annual War Bonnet Enduro races. Shortly after his win, he appeared on Star Racer, a reality TV show which aired nation-wide on Discovery Channel Canada, and made it to the semi-final elimination.

In 2008 P.J. created P.J. Groenke Racing and began racing in the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) and completed its first full season of competition. Over the last four years, the team raced in four different cars - each year counting more podium finishes than the year before. Last year, the team tallied 10 top five finishes in 15 races including three podium finishes and the first two victories for the Pfaff, Castrol VW GTI presented by Verax.ca.

P.J. has signed with Octane Motorsport to drive the team's first B-Spec MINI Cooper in the 2012 Canadian Touring Car Championship.
